Muhammad is a Legal Consultant in the corporate department. He is specialised in dispute resolution, on predominately real estate and construction matters. Most recently Muhammad advised a group of companies based in Athens, Greece and the UAE, with business in the construction field.
His experience in the Gulf region includes major acquisitions, due diligence enquiries, corporate restructurings and related agreements. Muhammad has particular expertise in structuring issues for corporate groups operating throughout the GCC/MENA countries. He has an impressive understanding of a diverse group of sectors, having carried out due-diligence on limited liability companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the divisions of; marine services and air conditioning production. He advised on a DMCC based subsidiary of digital recruitment company in the UK, and a management training company. His particular interest is in directors’ duties and shareholder rights. He regularly advises and drafts shareholders agreements, memoranda of association and amendments thereto, assignment of shares, increase of capital and changes to trade names and company directors.
Muhammad has vast experience in cases of commercial fraud, trademark infringement, labour disputes and the setting up of both foreign and local companies in the UAE- including free zones and offshore companies. He successfully instructed an offshore company registered in JAFZA, UAE regarding ownership of an under-construction mall.
Muhammad is highly proficient in negotiating, drafting and vetting varied contracts including drafting bespoke construction contracts. He often advises on acquisitions and reorganisations as well as on a wide range of corporate deals.
Muhammad was educated in both the UK and Pakistan, holding a LLM Degree from the University of Glamorgan and Bachelor of Law from the University of Punjab. He is a member of the Punjab Bar Council and a registered Legal Consultant with the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department and a registered wills draftsman with the DIFC.
