Senior Associate

Tania is a Senior Associate in our Litigation team. Her work experience in both private practice and in-house has given her vast exposure and know-how when it comes to understanding the operations, strategies, and commercial aims of businesses and corporate entities from an array of sectors.

She has experience supporting both local and international clients by providing legal advice and opinions, including drafting independent expert reports in arbitration cases on UAE law. Tania is also proficient in setting out strategies for onshore and offshore court cases at every stage of the process. Her expertise includes particular focus on commercial, real estate, insolvency, employment, and construction matters.

In addition, Tania is adept at advising and reviewing agreements, including drafting agreements, particularly sale and purchase agreements.

  • A major GCC company in B2C financing industry on losses from suspected fraudulent transactions, encompassing complex investigatory, criminal, civil, and jurisdictional issues.
  • One of the world's largest communication and advertising holding companies regarding allegations made by one of their competitors against a number of their key employees for breach of confidentiality.
  • An international hotel management company incorporated outside the UAE in a dispute under the DIFC Court's jurisdiction, involving recognising and enforcing an arbitral award within the UAE but outside the DIFC.
  • A UAE real estate company against two major real estate developers in case concerning the invalidity of a land sale contract and to obligate the defendants to refund an amount of over AED 60 million.
  • A government entity on the structuring of a major infrastructure transaction, drafting all related agreements and advising on the due diligence for pre and post completion phases. The transaction value was over AED 500 million.
  • A European construction company on their 100% acquisition of shares in the UAE operations, including local subsidiaries and local branches, of a major Middle East-based construction company.
  • A UAE financial investment firm on contentious issues before the local courts regarding their potential liability and obligation(s) resulting from the voluntary winding up application of one of the main commodities trading firms in the region.
  • A global bank on a criminal investigation and employment dispute concerning the leaking of sensitive business information by an employee to competitors.
  • A GCC infrastructure company on various commercial matters, including their Joint Venture Agreement with another party, pre-contractual negotiations and other general corporate governance work. 
  • A major UAE developer on an approx. AED 100 million dispute against the main contractor concerning a large real estate project in the UAE.
